The Challenge

At events, guests want to request songs but nobody wants to download yet another app. The client wanted a system where guests just text a number and the DJ sees requests pop up on a live dashboard. Simple concept, but getting SMS, anonymous users, and real-time updates to work together reliably was the actual challenge.

Our Approach

We built the SMS flow through Twilio — guests text in, no login needed. Requests show up instantly on the DJ dashboard via WebSockets. We also cleaned up a bunch of bugs in the existing codebase and made the whole thing work properly on phones.
