RequestNow

The Challenge

At events, guests want to request songs but nobody wants to download yet another app. The client wanted a system where guests just text a number and the DJ sees requests pop up on a live dashboard. Simple concept, but getting SMS, anonymous users, and real-time updates to work together reliably was the actual challenge.

Our Approach

We built the SMS flow through Twilio. guests text in, no login needed. Requests show up instantly on the DJ dashboard via WebSockets. We also cleaned up a bunch of bugs in the existing codebase and made the whole thing work properly on phones.
